I am currently editing my collected posts from Bible Study Coffee Time into a book and had forgotten just how much work it is to do this. You can’t just “copy and paste” your blog posts into a book.
Uppermost in my mind is – what would you want to read if this blog were a book?
A blog post is a single train of thought, a single moment in time.
A book is an extended conversation where you take the position of the speaker and the audience at the same time.
I want any investment of time you’re making in the book to be worth it.
At the end of the day, a book has to be a labor of love or it is not worth doing. It is not an afterthought or a brochure that you use to throw at people and prove that you’re a celebrity. When you take the ego out and put the heart and soul back in, it becomes a work worth reading.
